Mr. Vladimir I. Tolstoy
Vladimir I. Tolstoy,
Director of The State Memorial and Natural Preserve Leo Tolstoy Museum-Estate "Yasnaya Polyana".
Vladimir Tolstoy was born on September 28, 1962
In 1979 he finishes a secondary school in Moscow.
In 1979 he enters the Moscow University, an international journalistic department.
In 1984 he graduates from the University.
Since October, 1980 while studying at the University he holds a position of a regular literary employee of the magazine "Studenchesky Meridian" ("Student Meridian")
Since April, 1984 he holds a position of a literary employee on the staff, later a senior literary employee and sub-editor.
Since August, 1988 he is a Member of the Union of Journalists of the USSR, later Russia.
Since December, 1993 - the Head-Expert of the Managing Department of museums in the Culture Ministry of Russian Federation.
Since August 1, 1994 - the Director of the State memorial and natural preserve "Museum-Estate of Leo Tolstoy "Yasnaya Polyana".
Since January, 1995 - a Member of the International Council of Museums (ICOM).
Since 1996 - the Chief Editor of the historical and publicistic almanac "Voskresenye".
Since March, 1997 - the Leader of the Central Council of the Association of Russian museums.
Since January, 1997 - the Chief-Editor of the art-literary journal "Yasnaya Polyana".
Since October, 1998 - a Member of the Sarvodaya International Trust in India.
Since 2001 – a Member of the Union of Russian Museums.
He is married, has four children: two daughters and two sons.
