Enjoy a scenic coastal drive in to Konavle Valley, which is the countryside of Dubrovnik Region. Scenic drive through the small and picturesque villages will first take you to the village of Ljuta where you will visit Old Mill called Mlinica Dvori which is still in function today. Here you will be able to see demonstration of flour production using traditional methods where the water power stone mill. There is a system of watermills and stamp mills built on river Ljuta which consisted of eight watermills for flour, two watermills for oil and three stamp mills. The functioning of the mills was based on a canal system, and some of them were driven by three aqueducts. Most of the buildings were on the western bank apart from the Đivanović stamp mill, which was on the eastern bank. The mill system was extremely important for the economy of Konavle and the Republic as a whole. The river source and the upper stream is under protection of the Government as a park of nature, whereas the watermill is protected as a cultural monument. Continue to the Sokol Tower. It stands high on inaccessible rocks above the village of Dunava in Konavle, near Dubrovnik, where its imposing form has dominated the Konavle valley since Illyrian times. Its shape matches the natural stone on which it rests, and its grey colour blends with the natural surroundings. Sokol Tower, the most impressive medieval remains in the Dubrovnik area, offers an impressive view of the magnificent landscapes of Konavle in their full beauty. Another highlight of this day trip will be a visit to Konavle County Museum. Upon the visit to Konavle County Museum, you can enjoy a traditional lunch at Novakovic Village Home. Last stop of the day tour will be House Bukovac in Cavtat, which you will visit after the lunch in Novakovic Village Home.
